Review and Approval Process
1. Nominations/Applications: To ensure procedural transparency and due diligence while maintaining consistency among nomination packets, the Application Committee will oversee the acceptance of nomination packets for induction consideration. This process will include:
a) Only materials submitted by the nominator will be forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee for evaluation. It is the nominators responsibility to provide all required materials by the specified deadline of April 1. All packets will be verified by the Application Committee for eligibility based on the list of approved "Nomination Materials" as outlined, and subsequently forwarded to the Hall of Fame Committee for review.
- Member-Submitted Hall of Fame nominations will be created and submitted by the nominator through an online application process with the deadline of April 1.
- Historical nomination materials on file for any nominee may be requested in writing and released to an AQHA member for the purpose of re-submission of a nomination. Support materials eligible for release will be determined and approved by the Application Committee. If approved by the Application Committee, appropriate support materials will be forwarded to the requestor for re-nomination through the online reviewer system and available for evaluation by the Hall of Fame Committee.
- Incomplete nominations are not eligible for consideration. Nominator must submit missing/updated documentation the following selection year before candidate becomes eligible for further consideration.
b) If multiple nomination packets are submitted for a single nominee, only one comprehensive packet will be reviewed by the Hall of Fame Committee for consideration. All materials included in the comprehensive packet will be managed and approved by the Application Committee.
c) All nomination materials approved by the Application Committee will be accessed, evaluated, and/or scored by the Hall of Fame Committee using the Foundation's online reviewer system.
2. Round(s) of Review: Multiple rounds of review will be performed by the Hall of Fame Committee to evaluate and score all eligible Member-Submitted Nominations to finalize and determine annual inductee recommendations.
3. Final Approval: A majority vote of endorsement is required from members of the American Quarter Horse Foundation's Council and Board of Trustees.
